ACE – Technical Workshop Descriptor
Ian Friend Technical Instruction Area: Animation Technical Learning Objectives: Students will be introduced to key technical and practical concerns when creating a character for use in different 3D CGI environments. This workshop introduces key production issues and concerns in relation to character design for 3D CG. Moving from technologies to technique, students will attend a comprehensive lecture on key technical and practical considerations of character creation within the CG environment, followed by a supported practical exercise. Working to the terms and conditions of a mini brief they will explore common approaches to different production paradigms associated with 3D CG such as Broadcast, VFX, Feature and Games.
