The Brief - Associated Animation Exercise
You are expected to complete a range of short animation exercises designed to develop your understanding of the underpinning principles of animation and timing. Separate assignments will cover these in more detail.
As part of the "Body of Work" which you will be submitting for assessment this semester you are expected to include an experimental/abstract sequence which demonstrates the following
1) Time management skills in working to tight deadlines
2) An understand of key concepts and terms
3) Experience in production processes and an understanding of studio etiquette
This exercise also provides the opportunity to explore the use of audio as a source of inspiration in narrative development and timing.

Technical Learning Objectives:
This workshop builds on the skills learned in the previous workshop, and you will have the chance to use the capture booths and stop motion pro to shoot a longer and more ambitious sequence. By the end of the session you will be more confident in the key "Terms and Conditions" in setting up and using a DSLR camera and capture station to shoot flat 2D processes.
It also introduces students to the key constraints of under camera work (Light control, registration, camera “throw” and field size. and use the station correctly to shoot a short experimental sequence.
Associated Module Outcomes:
• Extending your understanding of animation;
• Helping you to develop an understanding of cinematic and animation narrative and an awareness of animation production methodologies and processes;
• Exploring your creative potential through animation;
• Develop skills in animation production and audio design;
